One dead, two others shot during robbery attempt at Clearwater home

http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/crime/one-dead-two-others-shot-during-robbery-attempt-at-clearwater-home/1163451

This is the stuff that gets under my skin. Almost this entire article was about the parties and how "rowdy" the house is. Who cares?!! Bitching neighbors and complaining makes a robbery less meaningful? Complain about that crap to the right people and do me a favor writers, stop downplaying what actually happened here. This was an ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT! The shooting may be related to a party or something else....whatever, it does not excuse an ARMED ROBBERY ATTEMPT. Just because they have parties and don't pick up after those parties does not mean it's OK to Rob the place!
No mention if the person that killed the robber was licensed to carry or not. He must have been, or that would be all over the article I would hope. The point here is, someone broke into a residence in an attempt to rob said residence. They were ARMED. So was an occupant of the home and they got shot. Guess what? I don't feel sorry for the robbers one bit. I might feel a little sorry for the reason this person somewhere in his life, was brought up to the point that he was willing to commit this crime, but they knew what they were doing the second they stepped into that home.
All the laws and changes involving gun control are making me dizzy. If that one occupant in that home was not armed and an unarmed person confronted one of the armed robbers, then an innocent non law breaking citizen could have been killed instead!
"But he was making a lot of noise during a party the night before and left a beer bottle in my yard"......ARGHHHHH
You crooks and robbers out there are going to realize soon, unless you're too dumb like these guys, that people are protecting themselves more and more, and if you go into someones home you better think twice whether it's worth the risk!
Now the LEGAL concealed weapon holders in Florida are going through another battle on another changing gun law. Check out the link and email the people listed if you care.

What is so ridiculous is getting a gun is easier for the common criminal than it is for a non criminal. I am legally licensed to carry and yes I have guns. I go to the range with my buddies and I enjoy the sport of shooting. I respect the weapons and understand the weapons. I also take extreme care to abide by the law with them. I also know how to protect my home from any threats, just in case any "robbers" were getting any dumb ideas!
I say leave the law abiding citizens that are protecting themselves alone and lets go after the criminals!
There seems to have been a bit more stories just like this one recently across the US. It also seems that when the stories are covered, the coverage is all about how sad the dead criminals family are, or what a tragedy the criminal had to die. What about the victims? What about the laws that were broken? The victim was actually able to save himself or herself and the story turns to that sad dead criminal? The homeowner survived and the robber is dead so lets write about the robber? Does anyone think that the person that had to defend themselves in fear for their life might have issues for the rest of their life just for the trauma of doing what they had to do to survive?
It's sad when ANYONE dies, but you know what? Maybe, just maybe, you should not break into someones home armed or not? Just a suggestion....

"Eat Right, Exercise, Die Anyway".....

One of my favorite T shirts I saw in Key West said "Eat Right, Exercise, Die Anyway".....

I eat pretty healthy only because the chips happens to fall that way. I grill most of my food so that fat drips away for all you fat watchers (not that I care) I love the fat, especially the skin on whatever! I just like grilled food over oven food. I love seafood and it just so happens most seafood is good for you. I grew up on roast Pork, seafood, and rice and beans.
I have always been a good cook because I learned from my Mother and Grandmother. My Grandmother Blanca Avael (God bless her Soul) used to cook at a restaurant in Key West named "The Fourth Of July". Most Conchs will remember this place. There used to be lines waiting all the way down the street and around the block just to get some of her food.
At her home she had three Bustelo cans full of lard.Yes LARD. One for fish, one for chicken, and one for beef. Yes she re-used this lard over and over. She also had three different cast iron skillets to match the lard. I still remember the backwards box fan in the window sill to blow the smoke out when she was cooking. It used to bring the neighbors running over! She made the best of whatever she was cooking. I miss her so much. Every time I cook something, I think of her.
We grew up on this supposedly unhealthy food but lived pretty long lives. My Grandfather Julio Avael into his 90's. My Uncle Raul smoked 1-2 packs of unfiltered cigs per day and ate the same food. He also lived a long life.
Even today, I have family members in the medical field that believe without a doubt, what you eat, can kill you. Sorry, I don't believe it. I think it's how you grow up and how you live. I don't mean what you eat or how you exercise. I mean HOW YOU LIVE. Stressful life? early death in my opinion. Get rid of that stress and laugh more and you will live longer. Google it for crying out loud, if you don't believe me.
I also believe it's WHERE you live. My Family for the most part grew up in Key West. An Island life that was laid back and easy going. Everyone worked hard and pitched in, and at the end of the day, Family is what mattered. Not style, or fashion, or TV, or Money. We always had enough and we all always shared. There was something about catching all that seafood yourself and eating it fresh, that just made it all the better. I remember riding my bicycle with a mask, fins, snorkel, and a spear. I would catch dinner only a few yards away from the beach, in a matter of minutes. I miss that sand so much.
Conch Shells that you can't even touch these days? Hell, I stepped on more than I could eat right off the beach. Lobster that you all pay so much money for? I ate so much of it for free to make you jealous.
We also ate a lot of fruit. Not from the grocery stores either. Straight from the trees. Fresh picked mangoes hanging over my Grandmothers fence from the neighbors yard daily. Coconuts straight from the trees, simply because it was fun to climb the trees and they were delicious, tamarinds right off of her back yard tree, and my favorite one, also from the trees in her yard......Mamoncillos. Again, if you don't know what they are...Google them. Conchs know, Sweet and delicious.
I just relived a great part of my growing up, and I understand the style is not for everyone. Especially athletes that require "special" diets. All I'm saying is relax people and eat what you like, laugh more, and find a way to rid yourself of useless stress. Exercise is still important. I just used to get it diving, spearfishing, and climbing coconut trees!

Change your life BS re-posted by REQUEST!

I am so sick of all the damn inspirational quotes. Crap to do if your husband is an asshole, or your wife is an asshole. What to do if you're not happy with your life. BS quotes about stuff that only happens in the movies. Every day is an opportunity for change. Crap about Love, relationships, therapy, etc.
How to get rich walking around the mall working from your cell phone while you buy a bunch of Crap you don't need. If there were any real way to make money this way the mall would not be full of broke ass people looking for sales. Free this and Free that. There is nothing free in this world, remember that quote? Some people get lucky and hit it, but reality is reality. If anyone out there can prove me wrong I challenge you right now, and don't send me some get rich quick spam Crap!
Most of you are not going to wake your asses up tomorrow and say "you know what, that quote from the Internet changed me". I'm starting a new life today....Bull Shit. You have a job to get to, bills to pay, maybe kids to take care of. You're not gonna just wake up and start making millions and working from a netbook on some damn yacht.
"Money is the root of all evil"......another famous BS quote. What's evil about money? Maybe if you are some flaunt your money asshole that thinks you are better than everyone else because of your money. Reality is, if you don't have the skills to make the millions, you most likely never will. Try thinking about all the problems you have going in your life right now. I bet someway, somehow, if you had a little more money, those problems would go away. At least some, if not most of them.
Happiness? I know I am happy with my little family, me and my beautiful daughter. The wife? Well that's not so great, but that's a whole other story. We don't have all the riches but I know damn well if we did, we would be happier, giving, caring people. Not Evil People. I also know I will never stop trying to do better for my daughter.
There is nothing wrong with dreaming and for some people, dreams do come true. I'm just tired of hearing it over and over. Especially from rich ass people that did have their dreams come true. I don't hear too many poor people making life inspiring quotes.
So if you are going to quote something or someone, make sure there is some reality in it. Changing my diet or religion or beliefs overnight is not going to make a difference. Change takes time and devotion. So stop trying to make it seem like it will happen overnight!
The sex tips are the most hilarious. Yes believe it or not, I am one of those romantic types. I fell in Love with my wife because of who she was on the inside, not on the outside, BUT, I also think couples need to be compatible in all areas where it counts! For those of you that have decided to wait till after marriage, I respect your decision. All I can say is I wish you well...Sex tips are fine, I enjoy reading them from some of my followers, just keep it real. Enough with the fake Crap again that only happens in movies. I would love to take a limo ride to my private jet and fly away to San Francisco for the night, just to see the Opera, like Richard Gere did in "Pretty Woman". But here comes the reality check again..............Most of us are not that wealthy!
We all have our issues and hardships. Depending on who you are they are all different but in some way, they are the same. They are issues or problems none the less. All we can do is try to work together and make it through.
Before I go, I want to put some REALITY quotes from one of my favorite comedians that kept it real. God Bless George Carlin.
"Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever."
"Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side."
"Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent."
"Remember, to say, “I love you” to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you."
KEEP IT REAL PEOPLE......

Scorpio Horoscopes

Scorpio Horoscopes

(Oct 23 - Nov 21)

For the Week of Mar 21st, 2011 -- You have the unique ability to maintain emotional control without coming across as harsh or rigid this weekend. This combination of toughness and tenderness is perfect for discussing delicate personal issues. But it's also excellent for showing the full range of your complex personality which can run the gamut from strength to sentimentality.

This about sums it up. Me (a Scorpio) will do anything to help someone in need if I can, and can be very sentimental, but cross me, or piss me off, or try messing with my friends or Family, which are one in the same, and you do not want to see my other side!

Time Away

Such a beautiful day that I'm going to take some time away from all this electronic connection and spend some quality time with my daughter planting flowers. She is patiently waiting for me as I type this. lol
Thanks to all my followers for all the great comments and posts. I'll be back later.....Have a great afternoon everyone!

Daughters Birthday

Today was my Daughters 5th birthday. With so much going on in the world. Disaster, sports, etc. It was nice just to be with Family for a while and just see the wonderful look on my daughters face as she blew out the candles and opened her presents. it was a nice escape from the everyday drudge.
It seems like yesterday I was taking her home for the first time. Now she navigates a laptop and surfs the children's sites like a professional writer. She even has her own passwords. lol
Not to sound to cliche but, they grow up so fast.
I find myself being robotic sometimes. Hearing her millions of questions every day and just giving generic answers. I realized today that if I just stop and look her straight in her eyes and actually listen to her, she is simply amazing. She notices the difference also between the generic answers and the answers that show her I am really interested in what she has to say. I will never waste another minute not listening.
God blessed me with this wonderful child. I will be there for her forever.....
